CHARLES B. WEST, M. D.
1858-1910

  Charles B. West was born in 1858 near Upper Strasburg.  He received a common 
school education and then studied medicine with Dr. James M. Gelwix at Upper 
Strasburg.  After the usual course he was graduated M. D. in 1883 from Jefferson 
Medical College.

  Dr. West began the practice of medicine at Upper Strasburg.  After two or 
three years he located at Williamson, this county, where he was in practice for 
ten years or more.  He then removed to Upper Strasburg and was in practice here 
until his death in 1910.

  Dr. West was admitted into the Medical Society in 1894 and was a member for 
several years.  He married Mary Oyer of Upper Strasburg.
