D. Thomas D. White was born in 1872 in Upper Strasburg. After receiving a common school education he read medicine with Dr. James M. Gelwix in Upper Strasburg and after the usual course was graduated M. D. in 1893 from the Medico Chirurgical College, Philadelphia, Pa. Dr. White began the practice of medicine in Upper Strasburg, remaining until 1898 when he located in Orrstown in partnership with Dr. A. K. Leberknight and succeeded to the practice at the latter's death. Dr. White was in war service for a time as Contract Surgeon during the Spanish-American War. He is a member of the Medical Society and was President in 1911, and is a member of Chambersburg Hospital Staff. He married Harriet Leberknight, the daughter of Dr. A. K. Leberknight.
