D. 1874-1925 Guy L. Zimmerman was born in 1874 at Sylvan, Warren Township, this county, the son of McCauley and Charlotte (Gelwicks) Zimmerman. He attended the rural schools and the Cumberland Valley State Normal School at Shippensburg. After this he began the study of medicine and was graduated M. D. in 1906 from the Baltimore Medical College, Baltimore. Dr. Zimmerman located at once at Lemaster where he was in continuous practice until 1924, when he relinquished active work because of impaired health. His death occurred September 26, 1925, at his home in Lemaster. Dr. Zimmerman was a member of the Medical Society from 1907 to 1912, a Director in the Peoples National Bank of Lemaster, a member of the Presbyterian Church at Mercersburg and of the Masonic Lodge in Greencastle. His remains were interred in Spring Grove Cemetery near Lemaster.
