Henry Rinehart, b.  in Washington Twp., Franklin County, PA Jan. 2, 1844,
the son of Samuel Rinehart, who was b. in Virginia, May 12, 1811. This
Samuel Rinehart was the son of Lewis Rinehart, who was b. in Lancaster
County, PA,  March 24, 1777, and d. July 7, 1844.  This family lived and
raised their family in Shenandoah county, Virgina, near the Shenandoah
River.  They moved to Franklin County along about 1827 or 1828 and
located in Washington Twp, purchasing a farm from John COCHRAN, located
about one mile east of Waynesboro.  After the death of Lewis, Samuel his
son, bought the farm. Samuel was m. March 31, 1831, to Catherine
BONEBRAKE.  She was b. in Washington Twp., June 13, 1807.  Samuel
Rinehart d. March 3, 1885, and his wife January 8, 1887.  The
Greatgrandfather of Henry, Ludwig Rinehart was b. in Germany.  He came to
America landing in Philadelphia, where he tooke the oath of allegiance
May 31, 1773.  In 1780 during the Revolutionary War, he belonged to he
Lancaster County Militia, serving in the sixth class under Capt. William
SMITH, commanding officer.  Ludwig bought land in Donegal Twp. Lancaster
County, PA in 1780 and sold it in 1782 moving to Shenandoah Valley.
Ludwig d. in 1812.  Henry Rinehart m. Elizabeth GARVER of German origin,
November 24, 1868. She was b. Sept 2, 1845 and d. May 12, 1913  Two
children Harvey B. and Ira G. b. in 1877 and d. in 1896.

Harvey B. Rinehart b. in Washington Twp. Sept 12, 1870, the son of Henry
and Elizabeth(Garver) Rinehart.  his great, great, Grandfather , Ludwig
Rinehart, Sr. was m. to Cathernie VALTER( Walter). Ludwig's son Lewis was
m. to Susanna MOHLER, Oct. 25, 1800. Susanna was b. Feb. 20, 1779 and d.
Jan 22, 1852.  Harvey Rinehart m. Fanny Grace, dau. of John SHANK of
Washington Twp. Her parents were of German origin and members of the York
Brethren Church. They have two children, Edwin H. who is married and has
two children, Doris Joan and Frances Lois and lives in Waynesboro. John
Aldrus Rinehart, working as a C.P.A.  for Lewis and Sells in New York
City.
The Rineharts are Republican and members of the Church of the Brethren.
