Frederick Ziegler b. in Germany, Dec. 30, 1730-----d. Nov. 21, 1791 the
ancestor of the Ziegler family of Greencastle, PA and Leitersburg, MD.,
emigrated to PA and settled in Lancaster County.  He married MAGDALENA
HOCHLANDER. Besides four daughters, whose married names were Fehl,
Resl., Detrick and Kendig, they had issue:
1. Frederick (II)
2. Lewis b. 1787---d. March 2, 1863 was a member of  the Maryland
Legislature.  He married, in 1809, Catharine Lantz, dau. of George and
Barbara (Ziegler) Lantz; they had issue:

Elizabeth,
Samuel,
Charles,
James,
Mary C.

(II) Frederick b. in Lancaster County Jan 19, 1778----died May 30,1857
son of frederick and Magdelena(Hochlander) Ziegler, was a farmer, miller
and distiller in the Leitersburg district, Washington County, Maryland.
He married Rose Ann Elizabeth Lantz, daughter of George and Barbara
(Ziegler) Lantz, and they had issue:

 1. George W. (III)
 2. Sophia
 3. Frederick K. b.Oct 28, 1815 d. Oct. 30, 1887 was a member of the
Maryland house of Delegates and sheriff of Washington County, MD. He marrried
Louisa Swailes and they had issue: F. Scott, Charles d., Lewis F.,
Robert, Annie S., George H., Catharine, David A., Margaret and Samuel J.

 6. Elizabeth m. Charles A Fletcher
 7. Catharine m. Dr. Frederick Byer and they had issue:  Margaret K.,who
married Col. B.F. Winger; Elizabeth V., who married Charles E. Ways; and
Helen.
 8. Anna m. Rev. John Heck b. Dec 11 1809, d. March 11, 1861, son of
Lundwig Heck, of Chambersburg, PA. They had issue: Frederick Z.,  Lewis D.,
John M., George S., and David J.
 9. David b. July 4, 1824 is deceased

(III) George W. Ziegler b. near Leitersburg, MD. April 30, 1810
d. Nov 16, 1897 son of Frederick and Rose Ann Elizabeth Lantz m. in 1842
Marie Fatzinger dau of George and Maria (Ayres) Fatzinger of Greencastle, PA.
George Fatzinger b. near Allentown Sept 14 1784 d. at Greencastle Jan
16, 1880. He was the son of Valentine and Barbara (Lowry) Fatsinger.
Valentine Fatzinger b. in Upper Pfalz, Germany in 1739 died in Lehigh
County in 1807, son of George Fatzinger was brought to PA by his parents
when only three years old.  He served in the Revolution. Battles of
Brandywine and Germantown.  Barbara (Lowry) Fatzinger was a dau. of
Michael Lowry, also a revolutionary soldier.  George Fatzinger the
younger , married Catherine Ayres (b. 1790 d. Sept 20, 1870) dau. of
Samuel Ayres an Englishman.

George W. and Maria (Fatzinger) Ziegler had issue:

3. Theodore F. died in childhood

George Frederick Ziegler(IV)
b. at Greencastle, PA Feb. 2, 1843 son of George W. and Maria (Fatzinger)
Ziegler. He m. Anna C. Robinson , dau. of Dr. Robert K. and Abigail
(Murphy) Robinson, of Sharon, Harford Co. MD. One son

1. George Frederick.
