All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/franklin/ _______________________________________________ Grantee: William Herron Grantor: William (and Mary, his wife) Campbell, Jr. Fannet Township Date Written: 1 May 1837 Date Recorded: 14 August 1837 This Indenture made the first day of May in the year of Our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty seven, between William Campbell & William and Mary his wife of Fannet Township Franklin County and State of Pennsylvania of the one part and William Herron of the Township county and state aforesaid of the other part _ Witnesseth that the said William Campbell & William for and in consideration of Eighteen hundred and fifty dollars money of the United States of America to him in hand paid by the said William Herron the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, hath granted barained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain and sell to the said William Herron his heirs and assigns, all that certain Tract of Land situate in Fannet Township Franklin County aforesaid, Containing two hundred and forty six acres, eighty two perches and the usual allowance of six per cent for roads ‹ bounded by lands of Adam Creuse [?] on the South John Bengon [?] on the East William Gamble [?] on the north and Andrew Wilson on the West Beginning at a White Oak corner on the line of William Campbell Senr and running thence South forty three and a half derees West One hundre and fifty five and on half perches to a lime stone, then South one and a fourth degrees East eighty six perches and one half perch to a lime stone, then South sixty nine and a half degre [sic] South sixty one and a half perches to a lime stone then North forty five and three fourths degrees East sixty nine and a half perches to a lime stone then South forty two and one half degrees East forty and one half perches to a lime stone thence North forty seven and one fourth degrees East one hundred and one half perches to a lime stone, thence North thirty eight and one fourth degrees West fifty six perches to a lime stone thence North thirty eight degrees East ninety four perches to a Hickory thence North sixty eight degrees East eighty six perches to a red oak, thence North thirty five degrees west twenty eight and a half perches to a lime stone thence north sixty eight and a half degre [sic] west sixty nine perches to a lime stone, thence North twenty four and a half degrees West thirteen perches to a lime stone thence South fifty eight and a half degres [sic], West one hundred and twenty eight perches to a Whte oak thence South forty nine degrees West fifteen perches to a white oak to the place of beginning, and the above described Tract of Land by the will of William Campbell decd bearing date the fourteeth day of November in the year of Our Lord one thousand eight hundred and three did devise the same to his two sons William and Mark, and James Campbell son of Mark by his deeds bearing date the fifth day of December in the year of Our Lord one thousand eight hundfred and thirty two did convey his part to William Campbell Jnr. and James Stitt Isabella Stitt and Mark Campbell by their Release bearing date the seventh day of June in the year of Our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty six, did release to the said William Campbell Jnr. and William Campbell by his release bearing date the fourth day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty six did release to William Campbell Jnr and a Patent was issued by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to the said William Campbell Jnr bearing date the ninth day of December in the year of Our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty six, enrolled in patent book H Vol. thirty six page six hundred and five, reference being had to the above recited papers being had will more fully appear_Together with all and Singular the rights liberties and immunities buildings, buildings, improvements and appurtenances to the same belonging or anywise appertaining_To have and to hold to the said William Herron his heirs and assigns forever, and the said William Campbell Jnr for himself, his heirs Executors and administrators doth covenant and agree to and with the sad [sic] William Herron his heirs and assigns that he the said William Campbell Jnr the above discribed [sic] Tract of land with the appurtenances from him and his heirs and from all and every other person or persons lawfully claiming or to claim the Land will warrant and forever defend by virtue of these presents - In Testimony whereof, the said William Campbell Jnr and Mary his wife have hereunto set their hands and seals the day and year first above written - Sealed and delivered} [signed] Wm Campbell Jr in presence of Jno Holliday Elizabeth Hammand} [signed] Mary Campbell Received the day and year above written of the within named William Herron the sum of Eighteen hundred and fifty dollars being the full consideration money within mentioned. D. 1837 before me Jno Holliday Esqr. one of the Justices of the Peace for the County of Franklin, residing and being in the Township of Fannet, Personally came the within named William Campbell Jnr and Mary his wife, and the said William Campbell Jnr did then and there acknowledge in due form of law that he has signed and sealed and as for his act and deed delivered the above deed and desired that the same might be recorded as such and the said Mary Campbell being by me in due form of law examined seperate [sic] and apart from her said husband and the full contents of the within deeds being by me first made known to her the said Mary Campbell and upon such seperate [sic] examination as aforesaid declare that she did voluntarily and of her own free will and accord seal and as her act and deed deliver the said deed without any coertion [sic] or compultion [sic] of her said husband - In testimony whereof I the said Jno Holliday have herunto set my hand and seal the day and year above written – [signed] Jno Holliday {seal} A true copy taken from the original 17th August 1837.
