All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/franklin/ _______________________________________________ Letterkenny Township, Franklin County, Pennsylvania Written: April 1, 1870 Recorded: January 19, 1875 Indenture John Gloss To Adam Treher Franklin County Courthouse Chambersburg, Pennsylvania Deed John Gloss to Adam Treher This Indenture, made the first day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and seventy, between John Gloss of Letterkenny Township, Franklin County and State of Pennsylvania of the first part and Adam Treher of the same Township, County, and State aforesaid of the second part. Witnesseth That the said party of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of twenty six hundred and fifty dollars lawful money of the United States, to him in hand well and truly paid by the said party of the second part, at and before the ensealing and delivery hereof the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted bargained and sold aliened, enseoffed and confirmed, and by these presents, do grant bargain and sell alien, enfeoff and confirm unto the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns all the following described real estate lying and being situate in Letterkenny Township, County of Franklin, and State of Pennsylvania Bounded and limed as follows to wit: Beginning at a hickory tree by lands of William McClelland deceased on the North, North 43 degrees West 75 perches to a post, thence North 48 degrees West 99 perches to a post; thence North 47 degrees East 57 and six tenth perches to a post, thence South East by lands of W.P.B. Leedeg and Samuel Stake 51 ½ degrees to a post, South 66 ¾ degrees to a post, East South 76 ¼ degrees to a post, E South 37 ¾ degrees East 44 and five tenth perches to a pile of stones, South 28 degrees East 77 perches to a post, South 55 degrees East 51 perches to a post, South 36 ½ degrees on the West by lands of Mathias Rosenberger 3 degrees to a post, South 13 degrees East 49 perches to a hickory, South 24 degrees West 25 perches to a hickory tree to the place of Beginning. Containing eighty acres more or less, being part of a tract of land sold by Joseph Culbertson sheriff of the County aforesaid to John McClay and John Findlay on the sixteenth day of January A.D. 1828 as the property of Jacob Stake and described in the Sheriffs deed and by them sold to Henry Roller by Indenture bearing date the eight day of April A.D. 1828 and by said Henry Roller and Margaret his wife by deed bearing dated the 16th day of March 1839 to John Gloss partee hereto reference being tied to the foregoing deeds will more fully and at length appear. Together with all and singular the buildings and improvements thereon made or erected, profits and commodities, advantages, emoluments, inheriditaments and appertuments whatsoever to the said described real estate belonging or in any wise appertaining and the revisions, remainders, rents, issues, and profits thereof also all the estate right, title, interest, use, possession, property, claims, and demand whatsoever of him the said party of the first in law or equity or otherwise howsoever, of, in, to, or out of said described real estate belonging or any part thereof, to have and to hold the said real estate as before described and the premises hereby granted mentioned or intended or intended so to be, with the apperturements unto the aforesaid party of the second part his heirs and assigns forever, to him and his only proper use benefit and behoof and to and for no other use intent, meaning or purpose whatsoever. And the said party of the first part for himself and his heirs, covenant, grant and agree to and with the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns by these presents, that he the said party of the first part, and his heirs the before described real estate hereby granted, bargained and sold with the appurtenances unto the said party of the second part, his heirs and assigns against him the said party of the first part and his heirs and all other persons whomsoever legally claiming or to claim the same or any part thereof, shall and will and by these presents do warrant and forever defend. In testimony whereof, the party of the first part has hereunto set his hand and affixed his seal the day and year above written. John Gloss Sealed and delivered in presence of E.D.
