Further note from rrm and cjmt: This deed is for land POSSIBLY purchased by our 4-greats-grandfather John McQuaid (1762-1850), son of William McQuaid of Rye Twp, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania. So far, we are unable to ascertain the whereabouts of John McQuaid, after probable service in the Rev. War from Lancaster County, Pennsylvania....until he relocates in Venango County, Pennsylvania, supposedly ca 1802. He is definitely found in the 1810 Sugar Creek Twp, Venango County PA census. John is NOT enumerated in either the 1790 or 1800 census with his father William in Rye Twp, Cumberland (now Perry) County, PA.
