Engle U.S. Int Rev Stamps, One Dollar and Fifty Cents This Indenture, made the second day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and seventy two, between John Swonger and Louisa his wife, Adam Treher and Mary his wife, George Reed and Elizabeth his wife, Michael Reed and Mary Jane his wife, John Aby and Martha E. his wife, John Reed and Mary B. his wife, Samuel Reed and Mary his wife, heirs at law and legal representatives of Michael Reed late of Lurgan Township Franklin County and State of Pennsylvania deceased, their wives and husbands joining in this Indenture and A. M. Engle of Southampton Township Franklin County and State of Pennsylvania of the other part witnesseth, that the said party of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of seven hundred and fifty dollars ($750.00) lawful money of the United States to them in hand will and truly paid by the said party of the second part, at and before the ensealing and delivery hereof the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, have granted, bargained and sold, aliened, ensoeffed and confirmed and by these presents, do grant, bargain and sell, alien, ensoeff and confirm unto the said party of the second part, his heirs and assigns all the following described real estate, lying and being situate in Lurgan Township, Franklin County and State of Pennsylvania bounded and described as follows to wit: Beginning at a post in line of Margaret Yeo, thence by same South sixty one Deg West twenty and nine tenths perches to a post thence by land of a Henry Bear’s Heirs North thirty one and a half deg West thirty six and two tenths perches to a post, thence North sixty one deg East thirteen and five tenths perches to a post, thence along the same South thirty seven and three tenths deg East two perches to a post, thence South forty deg East fifteen perches to the place of beginning. Containing three acres and one hundred and twenty five perches, also a small tract of land adjoining the same the same tract of land which Michael Reed in his lifetime by good conveyance or deed had and held and being so thereof seized died intestate and which therefore by law descended and came to his heirs the above named parties of the first part, their heirs and assigns together with all and singular the Buildings and improvements thereon made or erected. Profits and commodities, advantages, columents, heredetament, and appurtenances, whosoever to the said described real estate belonging or in any wise appertaining and the remainders, rents, issue, and projects thereof also all the estate, rights, title, interest, use, possession, property, claim and demand whatsoever of them the said party of the first part, in Law and equity, or otherwise, whatsoever of in, to, or out of said described real estate belonging or any part thereof. To have and to hold the said real estate as before described and the premesis hereby granted, mentioned or intended so to be, with the appurtenances, unto the aforesaid party of the second part, his heirs and assigns forever to his and their proper use, benefit and behoof and to and for no other use intent, meaning, or purpose whatsoever. And the said party of the first part, for themselves and their heirs, convenants grant and agreed to and with the said party of the second prt, his heirs and assigns by these presence that they the said party of the first part and their heirs, the before described real estate, hereby granted, bargained and sold with the appurtenances unto the said party of the second part, his heirs and assigns, against them the said party of the first part and their heirs and all other persons whomsoever legally claiming or to claim the same or any part thereof shall and will and by these presents do warrant and forever defend. Blair Hugh Coover Pennsylvania, Franklin County ss: Before me, the subscriber a Justice of the Peace in and for the said County, personally appeared Samuel Reed and Mary his wife, Michael Reed and Mary J. his wife, John H Reed and Mary B. his wife, George Reed and Elizabeth his wife, Adam Treher and Mary his wife, john W. Aby and Martha E. his wife, John Swonger and Louisa his wife and acknowledged the foregoing above Indenture to be their act and deed and expressed a desire that the same be lawfully recorded. The said Mary, Mary J., Mary B., Elizabeth, Mary, Martha E. and Louisa being of full age and having the contents of said deed made known to them separate and apart from their husbands, did upon such separate examination declare that they did voluntarily and of their own free will and accord sign and seal and acknowledged desire said deed of conveyance without any coercion whatsoever of their said husbands.
