All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/franklin/ _______________________________________________ Chambersburg, Franklin County, Pennsylvania Written: April 3, 1806 Recorded: August 1, 1815 Indenture George Trayer To Jacob Grove Franklin County Courthouse Chambersburg, Pennsylvania Book 10, Page 435 This indenture made the third day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and six between George Trayer of the Borough of Chambersburg, in the County of Franklin and State of Pennsylvania and Mary his wife of the one part: and Jacob Grove, of the Borough, County and State aforesaid of the other part. Witnesseth, that the said George Trayer and Mary his wife for and in consideration of the sum of eight hundred and fifty dollars, current money and lawful money of the State aforesaid, to them in hand well and truly paid by the said Jacob Grove at and before the ensealing and delivery hereof, the receipt whereof they do hereby acknowledge and therewith being fully satisfied, have granted, bargained and sold, aliened, enfeoffed and confirmed, and by these presents do fully, freely and absolutely grant, bargain, and sell, alien, enssoff and confirm unto the said Jacob Grove his heirs and assigns, all that the hereafter described lot or portion of ground situate, lying and being in the Borough of Chambersburg aforesaid, on the North side of Queen Street, containing forty four feet in breath and one hundred and ninety two feet in length bounded on the East by a sixteen feet alley; on the West by a lot of Charlotte Flagle; on the North by a lot of George Barnetz; and on the South by Queen Street aforesaid, distinguished on the general plan of said Town by No. (being the same lot or piece of ground which John Johnston Esq. High Sheriff of Franklin County aforesaid, by Deed Poll, bearing date the seventeenth day of June in the year of our Lord, one thousand seven hundred and ninety did for the consideration mentioned granted and conveyed unto Peter Snider by Indenture dated the eleventh day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and one for the consideration therein mentioned, granted and conveyed the same to Jacob Zanuck; who with Elizabeth his wife, by Indenture dated the twelfth day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and one, for the consideration therein mentioned granted and conveyed the same to Mathias Poorman who with Hannah his wife, by Indenture dated the thirteenth day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and three, for the consideration therein mentioned, granted and conveyed the same to George Trayer, party hereto, and to his heirs and assigns forever, as in, and by the above (in part). Instruments of writing, reference thereunto being had, will more fully and at large appear) Together with all and singular the buildings and improvements, thereon made or erected, profits, commodities advantages, envolvements, hereditaments and appurtenances whatsoever to the said described lot or portion of ground belonging, or in any appertaining and the reversions, remainders, rents, issues and profits thereof: also all the Estate right title interest, use, possession, property, claim and demand, whatsoever of them, the said George Trayer and Mary his wife in law, or equity, or otherwise howsoever of in to or out of the said described lot or portion of ground belonging to in any part thereof, together with all true copies of Deeds, evidences and writings, touching and concerning the hereby granted premises or any part or parcel thereof to be had and taken at the costs and charges of the said Jacob Grove his heirs and assigns to have and to hold the said lot or portion of ground as above described and the premises hereby granted, mentioned, or intended so to be, with the appurtenances unto the aforesaid Jacob Grove, his heirs and assigns forever, to his and their only proper use, benefit and behoof and to and for no other use, intent or meaning or purpose whatsoever. Subject never the less to annual Quit rent as it may become due on the same and payable to the proprietories thereof. And the said George Trayer and Mary his wife for, themselves and their heirs, do covenant promise, grant and agree, to and with the said Jacob Grove his heirs and assigns, by these presents that they, the said George Trayer and Mary his wife and their heirs, the above described lot or portion of ground hereby granted, bargained and sold with the appurtenances unto said Jacob Grove, his heirs and assigns against then the said George Trayer and Mary his wife and their Heirs, and against all and every person, persons whomsoever legally claiming or to claim the same, or any part thereof shall and warrant and forever defend, ( the quit rents above mentioned, only excepted). In testimony whereof the said George Trayer and Mary his wife have hereunto set their hands and affixed their seal the day and year first above written.
