AUTO DRIVER ACQUITTED
Waynesboro, Pa., Dec. 8 – Luther Mummert, of near Greencastle, was acquitted of the
charge of involuntary manslaughter in the Chambersburg court and the costs were
placed on the county. Circumstantial evidence produced was not sufficient to
convince the jury that Mummert was guilty of manslaughter in the death of George B.
Green, of near Greencastle, when he was struck by an automobile driven by Mummert on
the night of November 3, and so badly injured that he died several hours later.
