Harvey Grossnickle was visting Wm. Harshman, at Wolfsville, Washington county, Md., the other night and hitched his horse to the fence near the dwelling. When he came for the team the horse was on one side of the fence and the buggy on the other. Mr. Grossnickle cannot account how the horse ever got over as it was hitched as he left it. The singletree was broken and the horse was fast to the buggy by the backing strap but was hitched too short to permit him to jump. Foot Mashed by Car Wheels. Harris Williams, colored, of Williamsport, Maryland, attempted to board a freight train at Siloam on the W. M. R. R. on Tuesday evening, but fell with his right foot under the wheels and had it badly crushed. He was taken to the Chambersburg Hospital and Drs. Ramsey and Maclay amputated part of the foot. Buggy Damaged. As Benjamin Geisinger, of Guilford Springs, was driving through Greencastle on Sunday evening some person, whom he did not know, drove into his buggy injuring the vehicle quite badly.
