Beard, an aged resident of Waynesboro, dropped dead in that place Wednesday afternoon. In company with his wife he was on his way to the home of his brother, Geo. F. Beard. He seemed in his usual health and was in good spirits. Suddenly he tottered and then fell to the ground. He was carried into the residence of his brother, only a few feet away, by some of the people of the neighborhood. A few minutes afterward he expired. Mr. Beard was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Beard and was born near Fountaindale, Adams county. When he grew to manhood he learned the wagon-making trade, which he followed nearly all his life. Last July a year ago his wife died. Then he moved to Waynesboro, after which he was married the second time to Mrs. Nettie Blair, a resident of Adams county, last December.
