Carbaugh, a Waynesboro boy, well known in the western end of Adams county, died Monday afternoon at 4 o'clock, in the Chambersburg hospital, where he was receiving treatment for blood poisoning. He was aged 16 years, 11 months and 8 days. He contracted blood poisoning in September as the result of picking open two pimples on his right cheek. Several weeks later, upon his physician's advice, he was taken to the county hospital. During this period of time his condition was serious. He was delirious and was in a state of semi-consciousness. He was born Janaury 28, 1895, near Mont Alto, the son of Peter L. and Dessie Naugle Carbaugh, the latter of whom survives. At the age of four years his parents moved to Blue Ridge Summit, where he attended school. He was a bright young man and made good progress in his school work. Upon the death of his father several years ago, the family moved to Waynesboro, where young Carbaugh secured employment. He is survived by his mother and these brothers and sisters: Merle Carbaugh, Clyde Carbaugh and Miss Stella Carbaugh, at home, and Clarence and Vance Carbaugh, near Philadelphia. Funeral Wednesday, 2 p.m., from the home, conducted by Rev. Dr. Thos. S. Wilcox. Interment in Burns Hill cemetery, Waynesboro. Adams County News, Gettysburg, PA, January 13, 1912
