He had been ill since January 1 and was in the hospital for the past three weeks. He was critical the past six weeks. He was a son of James and Annie [McCutcheon] Carr and was born at Browns Mill on April 18, 1868. He was a Waynesboro resident for the past 50 years and for the last 30 years made his home with his daughter, Mrs. J. Ralph Noll, Waynesboro. His wife, Esther (Shockey) Carr, died 38 years ago. He was a foreman for the C.G. and W. Trolley Company for many years and was employed for the last several years at the Ralph Helm Meat Market. He is survived by the following children: Lloyd, Perry, Ohio; Miles, Greencastle, Route 4; Mrs. J. Ralph (Annie) Noll, Waynesboro; Mrs. Robert (Ida) Newell, Phillipsburg, NJ; and 16 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 pm from the Grove Funeral Home in charge of the Rev. Fleming Van Meter. Friends may call at the funeral home Saturday from 7 to 9 pm.
