Chamberlin, 79, widow of Robert Chamberlin St., 215-A Elder Ave., died this morning at 4:15 a.m. in Waynesboro Hospital where she had been a patient since March 8. She had been in failing health since last August. Mrs. Chamberlin was born at Roadside, June 20, 1896, a daughter of the late Daniel I. and Alverta Moats Shockey. Her early life was spent in the Roadside and Pennersville areas. She had lived in the Waynesboro area since her marriage in June, 1915. As a young woman, Mrs. Chamberlin was employed at Waynesboro Knitting Mill and from 1957-62 she and her husband operated a general store and filling station at RR#2, Waynesboro. Mr. Chamberlin died in November, 1969. Mrs. Chamberlin was a member of Five Forks Brethren in Christ Church and Waynesboro Chapter, AARP. She is survived by six children: Clayton D. Chamberlin, RR#1, Waynesboro; Mrs. Yaunce Roof, Camp Hill; Mrs. Michael Dokla, Robert Chamberlin Jr. and Lloyd F. Chamberlin, all of RR#2, Waynesboro, and Charles E. Chamberlin, Chambersburg. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Fred Currens, Dover. The funeral will be Wednesday at 3 p.m. in Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., conducted by the Rev. Martin Starr and the Rev. Gerald Houseknect. Burial will be in Price's Church Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.
