Diehl, 70, of 41 Saint James Ave., Phillipsburg, NJ, a former resident of Waynesboro, died at 3:30 a.m. Monday [19 May 1975] at the Warren Hospital, Phillipsburg. Mr. Diehl was born at Union Bridge, Maryland, Feb. 9, 1905. His early life was lived at Union Bridge and following their marriage in October, 1926, he and Mrs. Diehl made their home in York for several years. Mr. & Mrs. Diehl later lived in Waynesboro for a number of years when he was employed by the South Penn Power Co. For the past 40 years the Diehl's have made their home at Easton and Phillipsburg, and prior to his retirement in 1969. Mr. Diehl was employed by the New Jersey Power and Light co., for over 30 years. He worked as a dispatcher in the Phillipsburg office for the last 10 years before his retirement. In addition to his widow, Mrs. Ellen [Monighan] Diehl, he is survived by a half-brother, Earl Hoffman, Lebanon. The funeral will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. in the Grove Funeral Home in charge of Pastor Paul Curfman. Burial will be in the Harbaugh Church Cemetery [Rouserville, PA].
