Fleming died at his residence in Upton at 10 o'clock Tuesday morning aged 80 years, 3 months and 10 days. Mr. Fleming's death was the consummation of a lingering and painful illness. For months he suffered from a peculiar affection of the foot and during that time experienced the most excruciating pain. Mr. Fleming was a prominent man in his section. He was a native of Greencastle. About twelve years ago with is wife he moved to Upton, and during his residence there made many friends and acquaintances. He was a most exemplary citizen and Christian and his death has caused the profoundest sorrow to the entire community. He was a life-long member of the Lutheran church and an earnest worker in the cause of Christianity. Deceased was the father of Mr. L. A. B. Fleming, of Greencastle, and Mrs. W. P. Noble, of Upton, who with his wife survive him. People's Register, Chambersburg, PA, August 14, 1896
