He was in the 77th year of his age, but was unusually healthy and vigorous for a man of hie advanced years. We understand he retired in the evening in the possession of his usual health. Between four and five o'clock in the morning Mrs. Gordon was aroused by a sudden movement of the deceased. She had only time to rise and light a candle when he expired. Yesterday his remains were consigned to their last resting place in the grave yard attached to the Lutheran Church. Mr. Gordon was a soldier in the war of 1812, and we believe held a Captain's Commission.
