He was aged 72 years, 11 months and 23 days, and leaves five sons and three daughters to mourn his loss as follows: Mrs. H. K. Small, Mrs. John Phillippy, Abram Hassler, Jr., and Geo. W. Hassler, of Franklin county, Solomon Hassler, John Hassler, Edward Hassler, Kansas, and Mrs. Kate Grenoble, Michigan. Mr. Hassler by occupation was a farmer which vocation he followed all his life until a few years ago, when he retired on account of advancing years, yet his advice was much sought after by his neighbors, among whom he had gained a reputation as a most successful and progressive farmer, and was widely known throughout the township and county. He was loved and respected by all who knew him and his death will be mourned by the entire community. Mr. Hassler led a christian life and was a member of the Marion Reformed church. His grandson, the six months old child of Abram Hassler, Jr., was buried the day before his death. The funeral will take place this Saturday morning at ten o'clock, interment at the White church, Marion. People's Register, Chambersburg, PA, March 18, 1898
