HEEFNER

Peter Heefner died at the home of his son, John P. Heefner, on east Catharine 
street, on Monday afternoon, from kidney trouble and heart failure aged 73 
years.  His death occurred on the anniversary of his birth.  Mr. Heefner was a 
native of Germany.  He came to Chambersburg more than half a century ago.  He 
was engaged in gardening for many years.  Before coming to America, he served as 
a soldier in the army of Germany, and was shot in the neck in one of the battles 
in which he took part.

He was a member of the Second Lutheran church.  He is survived by the following 
children:  John and Adam Heefner, the well known barbers of town; Peter Heefner, 
Chicago; Philip Heefner, Dayton, O.; Henry Heefner, Hagerstown, Md.; Mrs. Alva 
Heffleman, Chambersburg.  Funeral took place on Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock.
