Heefner, on east Catharine street, on Monday afternoon, from kidney trouble and heart failure aged 73 years. His death occurred on the anniversary of his birth. Mr. Heefner was a native of Germany. He came to Chambersburg more than half a century ago. He was engaged in gardening for many years. Before coming to America, he served as a soldier in the army of Germany, and was shot in the neck in one of the battles in which he took part. He was a member of the Second Lutheran church. He is survived by the following children: John and Adam Heefner, the well known barbers of town; Peter Heefner, Chicago; Philip Heefner, Dayton, O.; Henry Heefner, Hagerstown, Md.; Mrs. Alva Heffleman, Chambersburg. Funeral took place on Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock. People's Register, Chambersburg, PA, November 1, 1901
