Interment at Salem. Services were conducted by Rev. Henry Etter. "Suffer little children to come unto me and forbid them not, for of such is the kingdom of heaven." As the sweet flower that scants the morn, But withers in the rising day, Thus lovely was this infant's dawn, Thus swiftly fled its life away. Before her heart had ever learned In waywardness to stray, Before her feet had ever turned That dark and downward way. Because thy smiling face was fair, Thy loving lips and eyes so bright, And to thy loving cradle care Was much a dear delight. Farewell papa, mamma, si-ter, brother dear, O'er my grave shed not a tear, I have gone to prepare the way You will follow some later day. A light is from out household gone, A voice we dearly loved is stilled, A place is vacant in our home Which never can be filled. Though early plucked from nature bed, Mary has gone to bloom on high In that Celestial Paradise Where flowers never die. People's Register, Chambersburg, PA, August 7, 1896
