MRS. MARY C. KING WAYNESBORO, Feb. 18 — Funeral services will be held Monday
morning for Mrs. Mary Catherine Tharp King, aged 90 years, widow of William H.
King, who died Thursday night at the home of her son, Emmert J. King, 512 South
Potomac street. Mrs. King was born near Paramount, Md., the daughter of John and
Catherine Miller Tharp. She lived on the Amos Frick farm near Ringgold until
1874, at which time she moved to Shady Grove where she lived until 1913. For the
last twelve years she had lived with her son. Her husband died in 1912.
Surviving are two sons: Emmert King and Earl T. King of Shady Grove, and a
daughter, Mrs. Naomi Cashman of Waynesboro. Fourteen grandchildren and a sister.
Miss Ida M. Tharp of South Potomac street also survive. Burial will be made in
Green Hi11 cemetery.
