Coldbrook Ave., died Saturday evening, Dec. 20, 1986, in Chambersburg Hospital. Born Jan. 24, 1920, in Greene Township, he was the son of the late Charles B. and Gertrude Wiles Newell. He was a member of Upper Strasburg United Methodist Church and was a US Army veteran of World War II. In 1981, he retired from Letterkenny Army Depot, with 25 years of service. Surviving are his wife, Vivian Wilds Newell; these children, Margaret [Ned] Kelso, Donald L. and David L., all of Chambersburg, Judith [William] Capello of Middletown, Patricia [Charles] Golden and Ronald, both of Fayetteville, and William D. of Shippensburg; two stepdaughters, Beverly [Earl] Cutchall of Gardners and Marg A. Truax of New Cumberland; 17 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and these brothers and sister, Stella [Kenneth] Farner of Fayetteville, Mildred [John] Myers of Roxbury, Beatrice [Fred] Kane of Pleasant Hall, Grace [William] Wilson of Etters, Robert of Shippensburg and Richard of Lurgan. Service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Park-Geisel Funeral Home Inc. The Revs. Charles A. Fitzgerald and Reston A. Haugh will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Visitation will be in the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 225 E. King St., Chambersburg.
