ROOK was born in Franklin County, Pennsylvania, Sept. 27, 1836, and died at his home three and one-half miles northeast of Oakley, on Saturday, Dec. 7 at the age of 71 years, 2 months and 10 days, after an illness of almost a month with cerebral hemorrhage and paralysis. In his death the community has lost an esteemed and honorable citizen, and his wife and children, a loving companion and father. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Hulbert, of the Oakley charge, on Sunday afternoon, and the remains interred in the Chariton Cemetery. The Masonic order, of which he was a member, had charge of the ceremony at the grave.
