Village record: (Waynesboro', Pa.) 1863-1871: 03 May 1867
On the 22d ult., at the residence of his father, John, oldest son of Christian
Shockey, aged 36 years, 8 months and 19 days. The deceased was a worthy member of
the community respected for his amiable disposition and moral character; having fell
a victim to the full destroyer, consumption, the father and mother lost a loving
son, and the family a doting brother, and the church a worthy member.
