Shockey, Waynesboro, RR2, died at the Waynesboro Hospital, Thursday at 9:45 a.m., after a two weeks illness of pneumonia, aged 49 years. The son of George and Sally Needy Shockey, he was born and lived his entire life in Waynesboro and vicinity. He was engaged in farming and also followed the blacksmith trade. A member of the American Legion, he served in The United States Army from 1913 until 1923, with Troop F of the 5th Cavalry. He is survived by his wife, Margie B. [Miller] Shockey, and daughters, Mrs. Calvin Koons, Hagerstown, RR4; Mrs. Edward Socks, Hagerstown, RR3; Mrs. Paul Weddle, Doris, Donna and Robert, all at home; sister, Mrs. Mary Shoup, Shady Grove, PA and six grandchildren. Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 2:30 p.m., from the Grove funeral home in Waynesboro, with the Rev. H.F. Coffelt officiating. Interment in Green Hill cemetery, Waynesboro.
