Elmer Shockey 86 of Waynesboro RD5 died at 8:45 a.m. today at the Waynesboro
Hospital.  He had been in failing health since June and was critically ill since
being admitted to the hospital last friday.
  
Mr. Shockey was born at Glen Furney April 19, 1888 son of the late Jacob and Mary
Reesman Shockey.
  
All his life was lived in the Waynesoboro He and Mrs. Shockey had lived at
Waynesboro RD5 since their marriage in 1910.
  
For over 65 years Mr. Shockey was employed as grounds keeper at the Montery Country
Club, Blue Ridge Summit.  He had been retired for the past five years.
  
Mr. Shockey attended the Calvary Episcopal Chapel.
  
In addition to his widow, Mrs. Ivy C. Emory Shockey, he is survived by six
Children; Christian C. Shockey of Lantz, MD; Richard S. Shockey Sr. Mrs. Frances
Hampton and Mrs. Paul Price all of Waynesboro RD 5, Mrs Mary I. Malles, Rouzerville
and Mrs. Theodore Pryor, Waynesboro. Also surviving are 26 grandchildren and a
sister Mrs. Hattie L. Riess, Waynesoboro.
  
The funeral will be held Thursday at 2:00 PM in the Grove Funeral Home in Charge of
the Rev. Canon J. Boyd Davis Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery.
