Saylor in Kansas City, Mo., for many months passed away last Wednesday. Her death takes away another of the pioneer mothers of the country and leaves sorrow in the homes of her children and a sense of loss in the hearts of her many friends of this community where she spent almost twenty years of her life. Sarah Flott was born in Franklin County, Pennsylvania, September 8, 1844 and departed this life October 17, 1928 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. C.W. (Charles Wesley) Saylor in Kansas City, Mo., at the age of 84 years, 1 month and 9 days. She was married to David Snyder January 1, 1863, who preceded her in death January 29, 1926 at the age of 95 years. Seven children blessed their home two of whom, Charles Lewis and Minnie Myrtle died in infancy. The surviving children are W.H. (William Henry) Snyder of Ponca City, Okla., Dan Snyder of Medicine Lodge, Kas, J.F. (Jacob Franklin) Snyder, Trinidad, Mont.; and Mrs. C.W. Saylor of Kansas City, Mo. The early years of her married life were spent on a farm near Polo, Ill. In 1872 she came to Nebraska and in 1879 she moved to Brown County, Kas. where she lived for two years then moved to the Berwick neighborhood. For eighteen years, they lived on the farm known as the Louis Feldman farm, then in 1899 they moved to a farm near Ponca City, Okla. In 1919, they retired from active farm work and went to Kansas City to live with their daughter. Mrs. Snyder was a member of the United Brethern Church since her childhood. She was a loving mother and a good neighbor. Besides her children, she is survived by seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at the Congregational church in Sabetha Friday afternoon - conducted by Rev. C.J. Christianson and burial was made in the Sabetha cemetery beside her husband. Additional Comments: Husband: David Snyder, son of Nicholas Snyder. David was born in Mifflin County. Sadie's Parents: Daniel Flott & Susannah (Henry) Flott Sadie's Siblings: David, Mary, Susannah (died in infancy), Henry L., Emanuel, Charles M. (NOTE: All changed the surname to Flood except for Charles's line which still uses Flott in current day.)
