STARR, 79, of 6080 Buttermilk Road, died Saturday, Aug. 21, 1993, at Chambersburg Hospital. Born July 30, 1914, in Greene Township, she was a daughter of the late Eugene V. and Estella Heess Newell. She was a 1931 graduate of Chambersburg High School. Mrs. Starr was a member of New Guilford Brethren in Christ Church. He husband, Scott W. Starr died Sept. 27, 1991. Surviving are six daughters, Ida May (Mrs. James) Gochenaur of Dillsburg, Alta (Mrs. Richard) Holden of Chambersburg, Patsy of Fayetteville, Mary (Mrs. F. George) Werner of Bainbridge, and Betty Jo (Mrs. Clarence Jr.) Sipe and Joyce (Mrs. W. William) Mellott, both of Waynesboro; one son, David W. of Waynesboro; 22 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters. Service will be at 11 AM Tuesday in New Guilford Brethren in Christ church. The Rev. Dr. Robert Verno will officiate. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens, near Chambersburg. Visitation will be one hour before the service in the church. The family requests the omission of flowers.
