Strite, 61, Chambersburg, died at 8:35 p.m. Monday in Chambersburg Hospital of a heart ailment. He was born in Chambersburg, son of Jacob A. and Emma (Durboraw) Strite. Mr. Strite was graduated from Dickinson College in 1929 with an AB degree and from Dickinson School of Law in 1931. He was editor of the Dickinson Law Review, a member of the bar of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and a member of the Franklin County Bar Association as well as a life member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association. He was director and solicitor of the Chambersburg Trust Company, assistant solicitor for the borough of Chambersburg, president of Norland and Cedar Grove Cemetery Companies, former director and president of Coyle Free Library, lifelong member and former trustee of Central Presbyterian Church, past master of George Washington Lodge 143, F. and A.M.; Continental Commandery 56; George Washington Council 66; Zembo Temple, Harrisburg; BPOE 600; IOOF; Chambersburg YMCA member and past president of the Chambersburg Lions Club and a member of the greater Chambersburg Chamber of Commerce and the Chambersburg Club. Surviving are his widow, Janet (Keefer) Strite; son, Dr. James A. Strite, Jr., Alexandria, Va.; daughters, Mrs. Barrett Caldwell, Neffsville, and Mrs. David E. Freet, Gettysburg; three grandchildren and two brothers, Albert and Robert Strite, Chambersburg. Following private interment in Norland Cemetery, memorial services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Thursday at Central Presbyterian Church, Chambersburg. Officiating will be the Rev. Donald E. May and Rev.
