Vanderau, 68, of R.R.1, Fayetteville, died Thursday morning at the Chambersburg Hospital after a six-month illness. Born on March 13, 1897, in Guilford Township, he was a son of the late John and Ida Holsinger Vanderau. He was a retired laborer. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Beatrice Newell Vanderau; a son, Donald I., 323 S. Fourth St.; eight grandchildren; three sister, Mrs. Myrtle Brechbiel of Mapleton Depot; Mrs. Sarah Heffner, R.R. 3 Greencastle; and Mrs. Ellen Leininger, 315 Stouffer Ave.; five brothers, Ralph of Middletown; Howard of R.R. 5; Jacob of R.R. 1 Waynesboro; Anthony and Paul, both of R.R. 3 Waynesboro. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the Barbour Funeral home, with the Rev. Marlin K. Ressler officiating. Burial will be made in Norland Cemetery.
