Walsh, 64, of 501 Lincoln Way East, died yesterday at 1:40 p.m. at the Chambersburg Hospital after an illness of three and one half weeks. In 1955 Mr. Walsh retired from the Pennsylvania State Police after 26 years of service. He was stationed in the governor's office in Harrisburg during the Pinchot, James, Martin, Duff and Fine administrations. A veteran of World War I, Mr. Walsh was a member of the Chambersburg Club, the BPOE No. 600, Chambersburg; Friendship Fire Company, No. 1; Euclid Lodge, No. 698, F&AM, Harrisburg; Perseverance Royal Arch Chapter, No. 12, Harrisburg; Pilgrim Commandery, No. 11, Harrisburg; Zembo Temple AAONMS, Harrisburg; American Legion, Post No. 27, Harrisburg; FOP Keystone Lodge, No. 41, Harrisburg; Retired State Police Association of Pennsylvania, Harrisburg. Mr. Walsh was born in Pittston on Sept. 1, 1895, a son of the late James J. and Anna Meehan Walsh. He was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Katherine Carr [Keefer] Walsh, a stepdaughter, Mrs. James A. Strite, 846 E. King St.; three grandchildren, and a brother, Leo J. Walsh, Pittston. The Rev. Roland W. Renkel will officiate at funeral services at the Barbour funeral home on Friday at 2 p.m. Burial will be made in Norland Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
