The bullet entered at the right temple and lodged at the top of the head. a powder burn on his left hand indicated that he had held the muzzle of the gun against his head with one hand and pulled the trigger with the other. Zullinger had been suffering from alcoholism. He had been in bed smoking a cigarette and set fire to the bed clothes. His wife put out the flames. Later hearing the report of a pistol, his wife summoned neighbors and Zullinger was found lying on his bed, with the revolver on his breast. He is said to have made threats to end his life on several occasions and for that reason all firearms had been confiscated. He purchased a new revolver without the knowledge of his family. He is survived by his father, George Zullinger, Sr., owner of the National Hotel, Chambersburg; his widow, who was Miss June Runk, daughter of the John Runk, who was a member of the firm of Runk & Peckman, realtors, here, some years ago, and two sons, George 3rd and Richard.
