He owned and operated a tannery in Fannettsburg, Metal Township, Franklin County, PA. James married Ann Skinner on 7 March 1822. Ann, daughter of John Skinner Jr and his wife Sarah Wilson, was born 13 August 1799 in Horse Valley, Franklin County, and died 21 May 1881 in Fannettsburg. Both James and Ann are buried at the Lower Path Valley Presbyterian Cemetery just south of Fannettsburg. James Walker kept a journal from 1830 to 1848, recording many events concerning his friends and family. The first line of the journal is "A Memorandum of miscellaneous and small events which I may at some future day wish to remember." I have extracted the marriages found in the journal, and plan to extract births and deaths at a later date. 28 Jan 1830 William Skinner and Mary Ann Ramsey 25 Mar 1830 William Connell and Rebecca Turner ?
