I, Christian Brechbill of Hamiliton Township Franklin County in the State of Pennsylvania, being far advanced in years tho of sound mind and disposing mind memory and understanding. Thanks be to God for the same and knowing the uncertainty of this life on earth and the certainty of death and being desirous to settle things in order, I do make and publish this my last will and Testament in manner and form following to wit. I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Susanna all my real and personal estate I now possess during her natural life and at her decease she shall have the full power to will the same to my Brother Jacob's son Jacob Brechbill Junior and my will further is that after my wife's decease my plantation shall fall to my brother's son Jacob and in case my wife should marry again after my decease and get heirs, she my said wife shall pay the sum of Four hundred Pounds good and lawful money out of my estate to the said Jacob Brechbill Junior, but if she my said wife dies without heirs then my said plantation shall fall to said Jacob if he shall remain a well doing boy, but no money paid to him and my will is that three years after my wife's decease the said Jacob shall pay the sum of five hundred pounds in the following manner, to one hundred pounds to be paid to my brother Jacob Brechbill, and one hundred pounds to Henry Hoover and the other three hundred pounds to be paid to my wife's friends or to whomever she shall order to be paid at her decease and my will further is that no inventory shall be taken after my decease all and everything shall remain in the hands of my wife during her natural life. And lastly I do hereby name and appoint my wife and Henry Hoover Executors of this my last will and testament and I do hereby revoke disannul and make void all other and former wills by me theretofore made ratifying allowing and holding this for firm and effectual in witness hereof I have set my hand and seal this twentieth day of September in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred and eighteen. Christian Brechbill Witness present: John Rothbaust Abraham Wingert John Solberger Franklin County ss: On the 30th day of October AD 1818 John Solberger and Abraham Wingert two of the witnesses to the foregoing instrument of writing appeared before me Register for the probate of Wills and granting letters of administration for the County of Franklin who upon their solemon affirmations do say that they were present and saw Christian Brechbill now deceased write his name unto and heard him publish the foregoing instrument of writing as and for his last Will and Testament that at the time of doing thereof he the said deceased was of sound and disposing mind memory and understanding according to the best of their knowledge and belief – that the names of a affirmed unto thereto subscribe as witnesses respectively of their own proper hands writing done at the same time.
