[Franklin County, Pennsylvania] In the name of God Amen I George Cressler of the Township of Southampton Franklin county considering the uncertainty of the mortal life and being of sound and and (sic) disposing mind and memory (Blessed by God for the same) do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following viz I will that all my Just debts as shall be by me owing at my death together with my funeral expenses and all charges touching the province (?) of or otherwise concerning this my will shall in the first place out of my personal estate and effects be fully paid and satisfied. Then my will is that all my Personal property excepting such articles as are hereby bequeathed Shall be appraised and sold. Then I give and bequeath to my daughter Susanah married to Andrew Muterspaugh of the State of Ohio the sum of Eight hundred dollars then to my daughter Elizabeth Married to John Keefer of the State of Ohio I give and bequeath the sum of Five hundred and ninety three dollars. Then to my daughter Lydia now the widow of John Heck, Jun., decd I give and bequeath the sum of one thousand dollars Then to my daughter Catharin (sic) Ann Married to Richard Parker Redick of the State of Ohio. I give and bequeath the sum of one thousand dollars Then to my daughter Maria Cressler I give and bequeath the sum of Twelve hundred dollars also one Cow the righ(t) of occupying one room in the house in which I now live to be at her own Choice so long as she remains single but no longer. To my grand daughter Catherin (sic) Heck Daughter of Lydia Heck I give and bequeath the sum of two hundred dollars and also one good bed and beding (sic) one good bureau and one Cow: To my Son William Cressler I give and devise to him and his heirs & assigns Forty nine acres of Land being a part of a larger tract of land part of which I have sold to my son Frederick Cressler and a lot of land which I purchased from the heirs of Michal Goodadle situate in Southampton township and County aforesaid. The said Forty nine acres includes both the last mentioned property - he the said William Cressler to pay to my Executors herein after appointed the sum of two hundred and twenty five dollars within one year after my death or in case the said William should refuse to take the said Forty nine acres of Land my executors are then directed to sell the the (sic) same to the best advantage they can and to convey the same to the purchaser to such good and sufficient deed of conveyance as I might or could do if living and then to pay to the said William Cressler the sum of One thousand dollars out of the money they may have received for the sd tract of Land: To my son John Cressler I give and bequeath the sum of One thousand dollars: Then to my son George I give and devise the farm on which I now reside to him his heirs and assigns the said farm being the same which I purchased from Robert Scotts (sic) heirs, and situate in the township of Southampton aforesaid he the said George to pay the others of my Children before mentioned under the direction of my Executors the sum of Five Thousand five hundred dollars in anual (sic) installments of Four hundred dollars untill (sic) that sum is paid the first payment to be made one year after my death. I also bequeath to him two horses and two cows; and I give and bequeath to my son Frederick Cressler the sum of one dollar which with what he has received from me shall be in full of his part of my estate. My will is that the order of payment of the legacys (sic) in money hereby bequeathed to my Children shall be that the oldest shall receive payment first and so on untill (sic) the youngest is paid. And I do hereby appoint my brother Adam Cressler and my son John Cressler to be Executors of this my last will & testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this fourteenth Day of February in the Year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty nine. George Cressler (seal) The foregoing instrument of Writing was Signed sealed and published & declared by the before named George Cressler to be his last will and testament in the presence of us who at his request and in his presence have subscribed our names as witnesses thereunto this 14th day of February A. D. 1839 John Lee John Cox Franklin County Sct 3 On this May 14th 1839 Personally appeared before me John W. Rogers Deputy Register in aforsaid (sic) County John Lee, and John Cox Esq. subscribing witnesses to the foregoing & within Instrument of writing who being duly sworn according to Law did depose & say that they were personally present & saw George Cressler now decd write his name unto & heard him publish, pronounce & declare the same as & for his Last will & Testament & that at the time of the doing thereof the said deceased was of sound & disposing mind, memory & understanding according to the best of their knowledge & belief, & that their names thereto subscribed as witnesses are in their own proper handwriting and done at the same time. You Adam Cressler and John Cressler Do each of you Swear that as Executors of the Last will & Testament of George Cressler late of Southampton Township decd.
