John Findley Senr estate, will book D page 428
      I, John Findley Senr of Chambersburgh now postmaster:
to my son Samuel my wearing apparel my father's family bible & my orange staff
to my daughter Ellen time piece & Scott bible
to my nephew James McDowell son of Maj James McDowell my surveying instruments
Exrs to sell estate &
to my wife Jane 1/3 & residue to be divided in 12 equal shares & gives as 
follows:
to my grandson Wm Maclay 1 share
to my daughter Mary Torrence 1 share
to my daughter Rebecca 1 share
to Elizabeth & Robert, children of my son John 1 share each
to my son Samuel 3 shares
to my daughter Ellen 4 shares
The portion of my brother James estate that falls to me by his will to go 
equally to my children.
Appoints friend Nathan Brownson Exr.  Dated July 2, 1837 & in 72d yr of my
