I Samuel Moorhead of Hamilton Township Cumberland County and province of Pennsylvania, being Weak of Body but of Sound mind memory and understanding (blessed be God) do this forth Day of March in the year of Our Lord God one thousand Seven hundred and Seventy Seven do make and publish this my last will and Testament in Manner, and form following (that is to say) I leave and Bequeath unto my son and Daughter Thomas and Martha Espey, the sum of twenty pounds Current money of the province aforesaid, also I give and Bequeath unto my son Thomas Moorehead the sum of Ten pounds of the Like Current money. Also I give and Bequeath unto my son Alexander, Two hundred Acres of Land Situate in the place where he formerly lived being part of my plantation on Tract of Land Situate lying and being in Hamilton Township aforesaid. Also I give and Bequeath unto my son Samuel the Like Quantity of two hundred Acres of Land being part of the aforesaid Tract Situate Between the aforesaid Bequeathed place and where my son Joseph now lives known by the name of Locust Hill, I also give and Bequeath unto my son Joseph the like Quantity of Two hundred Acres of Land being the place he is now possessed of Adjoining John Sullivans land and the aforesaid Bequeathed Locust Hill. Also, I give and Bequeath unto my son William the Like Quantity of Two hundred Acres of Land being part of the aforesaid Tract Situate on the Creek side known by the Name of Black Bottom and right to the place where William Graig formerly lived running up the Creek as far as a place Commonly Called the fish dam where there is a Mill, seat I also give and Bequeath unto my Daughter Jane Mitchel the sum of Twenty Pounds of the above Lawful Currency of Pennsylvania. I also give and Bequeath unto my son Fergus the sum of five pounds of the above Lawful Currency and I further Bequeath and Order, that immediately after my Decease that these my Children shall enter into full Possession of the Lands Bequeathed to them and at the Expiration of one full year (after) the aforementioned Legacies in Cash shall be paid unto the Legattees as is specified above and also all the Rest and Residue of my goods and Chattels and Estate Real and Personal Whatsoever I give and Bequeath unto my Well Beloved Wife Yuphian and I make and ordain her my said wife whole and sole Executor of this my last will in trust for the Intent and purposes in this my will Contained, and at her death I do leave it in her power to Will or Bequeath what I leave her as she may think proper in Witness Whereof I the said Samuel Moorhead have to this last will and Testament set my hand and seal the day and year first above Written Samuel Moorhead Signed Sealed and Delivered by the the (sic) said Samuel Moorhead as and for his last will and Testament in the present at the signing and Sealing thereof Wm Rannells James Hill A Holliday Franklin Co., Pennsylvania will book A, p. 19: Franklin County Before me Edward Crawford Jun Esquire Registor for the probate of Wills and granting Letters of Administration on and for the County personally Came William Rannells & Adam Holiday two of the Subscribing Witnesses to the within Instrument of Writing and on their Solemn Oaths do say that the (sic) were personally present & heard the within Named Samuel Moorhead Sign his Name unto and Seal and publish the within Instrument of Writing as for his last Will & Testament, and that at the time of the doing thereof he the said Samuel Moorhead was of Sound disposing mind memory & understanding to the best of their Knowledge & belief, & that they did Respectively Subscribe their Names thereto as Witnesses in the presence of the said Testator & at his request and also in the presence of each other, And further that they did See James Hill Subscribe his Name thereto as Witness at the Same time.
