Will Book H, Page 587 Will of Jacob MYERS In the name of God amen, I Jacob Myers Sr. of the township of Warren and the County of Franklin and State of Pennsylvania, farmer, being in perfect health of body and of sound mind, memory and understanding. But considering the uncertainty of this transitory life, do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following to wit. First it is my that my funeral shall be conducted without pomp unnecessary parade or ostentation and that the expense thereof together with all my just debts be fully paid. Second, I devise and bequith to my beloved wife Christeanna Myers nine hundred and fifty dollars being the amount she my said wife invested in the purchase of the plantation we now occupy which sum shall be paid to her representatives as she pleases or may dictate. And also I give and bequith to my said wife the plantation on which we now reside situated in the township aforesaid and containing one hundred and thirteen acres and one lot mountain land & one of 50 a. 1 of 29 acres during her natural life and all the live stock also all the household furniture and all the personal estate I may possess at the time of my desease. Excepting however the bequest of the plantation above mentioned not to take effect until after the expiration of a lease given to my son Jacob Myers Jr. and that at the death of my said wife all the property hereby devised and bequathed to her as aforesaid or so much thereof as may then remain unexpended including the plantation and lotts above mentioned and all my personal estate after the payment of the nine humdred and fifty dollars above mentioned shall have been paid out of the said plantation unto my wifes heirs or loyal representatives as above mentioned the balance I give and bequith unto my daughter Magdalenna Fritz and to my daughter in law Mary Myers and to their heirs and assignes forever to be equally devided between them or their heirs share and share alike by three reputable citizens mutually chosen by the parties subject though to the aforementioned lease and lastly I depute and appoint my friend Abraham Secrist to superintend the foregoing regulations and bequests after the death of both ons. that is myself & wife or after the death of one of us as the case may be. In witness whereof I have herunto set my hand and seal the 4th of May A.D. 1867 Signed sealed and delivered by the testator as his last will and testament in the presence of us, O.E. McCulloh L? C. McCulloh Jacob Myers I Jacob Myers the above named testator do make and publish this codicel to my last will and testament bearing date of May 4 AD 1867 in manner as follows to wit I do hereby revoke the appointment of Abraham Secrist to Superintend my business after my death and in his stead I constitute, nominate and appoint Solomon Cook of Warren Township, Franklin County, Pa as my executor and further I give to said executor the full authority to select and choose the three reputable men named in my foregoing will In witness whereof I hereunto set my hand and seal this 29th of April AD 1871 I also acknowledge the foregoing will and testament in full to be my act.
