The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net *********************************************************************** Franklin Co PA Will Book B, page 336, Estate #930: I Thomas Snodgrass of Lurgan Twp., Franklin Co., PA, considering the uncertainty of this life, and that probably I may shortly be removed from the Government of my family, Do hereby dispose of my worldly Estate, in the following manner; It is my will and I hereby empower my Executors to dispose of or sell to the best advantage in their power as soon as conveniently may be, all my Estate real and personal, and after my just debts are paid and a reasonable compensation allowed to my Executors for their trouble I bequeath the remainder to my children as follows To my dau. Mary the sum of one hundred and thirty three pounds and a good and well furnished feather bed, the best case of drawers, all her clothes, coarse or fine, her saddle and a good bridle, all the furniture in the Cupboard and on the dressar as brass Heckle and her spinning wheel -- To my dau. Elizabeth, Wife of John Woods, the sum of thirty pounds and as Tea Table; To my dau. Margaret, the sum of sixty pounds and a good and well furnished feather bed, a case of drawers all her Clothes, coarse and fine, and her Spinning wheel; to my son James the sum of one hundred and thirty three pounds, and his clothes coarse and fine, his saddle and bridle, his rifle and Key, his Harvesting tools and all his shoemaking tools -- To my son William the sum of thirty pounds; To my son Thomas the sum of one hundred pounds and my family Bible, his saddle and bridle, and all his clothes coarse and fine To my son Robert the sum of one hundred pounds, and all his clothes, coarse and fine; And I give and allow my three sons, viz James, Thomas and Robert, all my clothing of whatever kind I have of mine own wearing, to have and divide them amongst themselves as they shall see fit. And in case the product of my property should not reach the above calculations, the deficiency to be deducted according to the above distribution from each Legatee, and if the products shall amount to more than the above estimate, the surplus to be equally divided amongst my three sons named, to wit, James, Thomas & Robert And lastly I nominate and appoint my son Thomas and my friends James Smith and David Maclay Executors of this my last Will and Testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 7th day of February 1808. Thomas Snodgrass Signed, Sealed and declared, as my last will and Testament in the presence of Charles Maclay George Weir On the 11th day of March 1808, Charles Maclay and George Weir witnesses to the foregoing Instrument of Writing, appeared before me Register for the probate of Wills and granting Letters of Administration for Franklin County, who upon their solemn oaths did depose and say, that they were present and saw and heard Thomas Snodgrass deceased write his name unto and seal and publish the foregoing Instrument of writing to be his last Will and Testament, and that at the time of doing thereof, he the said deceased, was of sound and disposing mind, memory and understanding, according to the best of their knowledge and belief, and that their names thereto Subscribed as Witnesses is of their proper hand writing, done at the same time Charles Maclay George Weir Sworn and subscribed before Edw.
