All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/pafiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: David Bard mdb47@frontier.com September 20, 2010, 2:49 pm Fulton County Historical Society Card File RECORD OF DEATHS _________________ The Grim Reaper’s Work In Our Community and Elsewhere. _____________ Bard Charles Lewis Bard, a highly respected citizen of Belfast township, died at the home of his niece, Mrs. Frank Spade, near Sipes Mill, Monday evening, January 28, 1929, from general break down, due to old age. “Uncle Lewis” as he was familiarly known to his many friend, was a son of Charles and Susan (Lehman) Bard, deceased, and was born on the old Bard homestead, near Needmore, where he spent his entire life, with exception of the last three years. He was born April 11, 1852, hence was aged 76 years, 9 months and 17 day. Mr. Bard leaves to morn his loss, one brother, M. E. H. Bard of Pleasant ridge, who is the only surviving member of a family of four brothers and two sisters. He united with the Brethren church, August 26th, 1872. He dearly loved his church and was never absent from services only when his health failed him and he was unable to attend. He served as a Deacon from October 25, 1890 until his death. Funeral services were held from his late home, Wednesday, January 30th, at 1 P.M. conducted by his pastor, Rev. J. C. Garland, assisted by Rev. Isaiah Mellott and Rev. John Mellott. Burial was made in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery. Additional Comments: Charles was the brother of my great grandfather John Bard.
