Frances J. Beard

Frances Jane Peacher Beard, 83, Hagerstown, Md., died at her home on Friday, 
May 28, 2004. 
Born July 29, 1920, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of William E. Peacher 
Sr. and Ethel Sara Murray Peacher. 
She was previously employed by South Mountain Restoration Center and Brandt 
Cabinet Works. 
She attended Frostburg State College. She as a longtime fan of the Baltimore 
Orioles and an avid follower of NASCAR. 
Her husband, Vaughn Kermit Beard, preceded her in death in 1984. 
Surviving are a brother, William E. Peacher Jr., Hagerstown; six children and 
one stepson: Alys Boyd of Benton Harbor, Mich.; Arthur Camp Stanley III, 
Hagerstown; Holly Garrett, Hagerstown; Robin Long, Greencastle; Lisa Bard, 
McConnellsburg; Vaughn Kermit Beard II, Funkstown, and Vaughn Gene Beard, 
Hagerstown; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. 
Services were held at the convenience of the family. 
Memorial donations may be made to Washington County Humane Society, 13011 
Maugansville Road, Hagerstown, MD 21740.
