Maria Crouse Berkeley Springs, 85 E. Maria Crouse, 85 , Berkeley Springs, WV and formerly of Needmore, died Monday, May 19, 1997 at the Morgan County Memorial Hospital, Berkeley Springs. Born in Ayr Township, Fulton County, November 22, 1911, she was the daughter of the late Erastus A. and Bertha E. Pittman Bard and the widow of Myron S. Crouse who died may 18, 1985. She was of the protestant faith and a member of the Tonoloway Baptist Cemetery Association. She is survived by two daughters: Mildred Naomi Smith of Oxnard, CA.; Betty I. Allgyer of Berkeley Springs, with whom she resided; two sons: Ed D. Crouse, Hancock and Lester A. Crouse, Hampton VA.; two half-sisters: Ida Litton and Vesta Hull, both of Big Cove Tannery, one half-brother: Mosser Shiver, Florence, KY., seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by one brother, John Bard. A graveside service will be held Thursday, May 22, 1997 at 11:00 a.m. at the Tonoloway Baptist Cemetery, Needmore, Rev. William D. Leonard will officiate. The family will receive friends at the Grove Funeral Home, Hancock, MD on Wednesday evening from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.. For the convenience of friends the funeral home will be open from12 noon to 9 p.m. on Wednesday. The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Tonoloway Baptist Cemetery Association, c/o Effie Ward, 211 Maryland Avenue, Hancock, MD. 21750 or to the Morgan County Rescue Service PO BOX 151, Berkeley Springs, WV, 25411 or to the Morgan County Chapter of the American Heart Association, c/o/ Morgan County War Memorial Hospital Extended Care Facility, Fairfax Street, Berkeley Springs, WV. 2541.
