Georgia Bard Decker
McConnellsburg, 78

Georgia Bard Decker, 78 McConnellsburg, formerly of  Harrisonville, died at 
3:55am, Monday, October 20 1997 in the Extended Care Unit, Fulton County, 
Medical Canter, where she had been for three months.
Born December 10, 1918 in Pleasant Ridge, PA. Belfast Township, she was the 
daughter of the late Oliver L Bard and Nettie Mellott Bard.
She was a member of the Ebenezer United Methodist Church, Needmore; a Sunday 
School teacher for a number of years, church treasurer and chaplain of the 
United Methodist Women for a number of years.  She was a member of the adult 
choir and had been a children’s choir leader.
Surviving are her husband, H. Wayne Decker, McConnellsburg, whom she married 
June 25, 1939; two daughters: Jean Bauer, Columbia, SC; Nancy Pittman, 
Mercersburg; two sons: Arnold Decker, St. Thomas; Willis Decker, Harrisonville; 
nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; Three brothers: Raymond Bard, 
Philadelphia; Wayne and Gerald Bard, both of Warfordsburg.
She was preceded in death by three sisters and four brothers.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, October 23 at the Ebenezer 
United Methodist Church, Needmore, Rev. Charles Gummo, Rev. Donald Bard and 
Rev. Vernon Bauer will officiate.  Burial will be made in the church cemetery.
The viewing will be held from 2:00 pm, Wednesday, October 22 at the Howard L. 
Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., Harrisonville and at the church on Thursday one hour 
before the service.
