Warfordsburg, 90 
Ruth F. Duvall, 90, Warfordsburg, died Tuesday, March 5, 2002, at the Fulton 
County Medical Center. 
Born December 14, 1911, in Brush Creek Township, Fulton County, she was the 
daughter of the late Asa Martin and Rebecca Frances Sponsler Barkman and the 
widow of Raymond O. Duvall, who passed away June 18, 1972. 
She had been employed with Pittman’s IGA Supermarket in Hancock for 30 years. 
She attended the Akersville School. 
She was a member of the Cedar Grove Christian Church, Warfordsburg; a member 
and chairperson of the Fulton County Chapter of the American Cancer Society. 
She was a member of the Whips Cove Pals; a charter member of the Warfordsburg 
Senior Citizens and was active in community affairs. 
She is survived by three daughters: Beverly F. Bard, Saundra A. Miller and Sue 
Ellen Golden, all of Warfordsburg; a son, Keith A. Duvall, Stafford, Va.; five 
grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. 
She was preceded in death by three sisters: Pearl Akers, Janet Brown Troupe and 
Carrie Edwards, six brothers: Troy, Ross, Jacob, Frank, Jason and Walter 
Barkman, a grandson, Aaron Golden. 
Services were held Friday, March 8, at 11:00 a.m., at the Cedar Grove Christian 
Church, Warfordsburg. Pastor Timothy Close officiated. Burial was made in the 
adjoining church cemetery. 
The Grove Funeral Home in Hancock was in charge of arrangements.
