Pennsylvania, being weak in body but having soundness of mind thanks be to God for the same knowing it is apointed once for all to die, but not knowing the time when, I do make and publish this my last will and testament sting aside all others in manner and form as folows that is to say, First of all I comit my body to the earth to be buried in a christian like maner and my soul to God that gave it, nothing doubting but I shall receive the same again at the day of the reserrection. Secondly, it is my will that all my debts and funerle expencies be paid of my property. Thirdly as for my son Elijah Melott, he got his share in the plantation that I sold him. My daughter Lidia the Wife of Abrham Clevenger I give her one dollar. The rest of my property to be equely divided amongst the rest of my children, namely Nancy the wife of John Hockensmith, Levi Mellott, Jonathan Mellott, Barbary Mellott, Parthenia the Wife of Richard Blanckney, Eve Mellott, -- I hereby appoint soul Executor of this my last will and testament, Jeremiah Mellott, Sr. I further authorize my Executor to collect all my outstanding money. I hereby revoke all former wills made by me. Be it remembered that on the thirteenth day of October Anno Domini one thousand eight hundred and fifty one, Letters Testamentary were issued to Jeremiah Mellott the Executor named in the foregoing will of Obadia Mellott deceased, he having first been duly sworn.
