PITTMAN, Fulton County, Book I, page 220, May 16, 1865 (died age 44, predeceases his father). Item: I give, devise and bequeath to my beloved wife, Caroline E. Pittman, to have what property she brought over, my cows in lieu of one cow she brought with her, my carpet in the little parlor, one new blankett (sic) and also one thousand dollars in money to be paid to her by my executors herein after named, within 6 months after my decease, to have and to hold to her, her executors administrators and assigns forever, in lieu of any other dower however. I give an bequeath to my daughter, Elizabeth Pittman, one reasonable good bed and also fifty dollars in money to be paid to her by my executors hereinafter appointed, within six moths after my decease, to be for the sole use of herself, herself, her executors, her administrators and assigns. I give and devise for the support and maintenance of my two daughters, Annie Irene Pittman and Alice Cook Pittman, each, sixty-two and one half cents per week after my decease until they arrive at seven years of age. All the rest and residue of my estate, real personal and mixed, of which I shall die seized and possessed or to which I shall be entitled in my decease, I give devise and bequeath to be equally divided share and share alike, between and among all my sons and daughters, Sylvester Pittman, Elizabeth Pittman, George W. Pittman, Sarah J. Pittman, Joseph B. Pittman, Eveline Pittman, Annie Irene Pittman and Alice Cook Pittman. And further it is my desire and wish if I should die soon that my family shall keep together as they are now, keep the property together take of the same untill [sic] September 186_.
