Huston Monongahela Tp, Greene Co Pa May 23, 1922 7 PM. Albert O. brought out his father, Thomas Huston's big Bible which was published at Pittsburgh Pa by Joseph Horner but no date given. Huston, Monongahela, Green Co, Pa May 23, 1922 7:35 PM Mrs Huston admitted me & Mr Huston was in the house. They brought out their family Bible from which I took the record viz: Franklin P. Huston was born Feby 18, 1853 Margaret Ann Skiles was born Dec 22, 1860 She was the daughter or is the daughter of James Skiles who was son of Peter Skiles who lived below Uniontown, Pa. They were married Oct 20, 1877 by Rev Sylvanus Lane at Greensboro. Their children: 1. William Clarence was born Oct 31, 1878 2. Mary Amanda was born Jany 21, 1886 James Skiles was born Apr 17, 1804 Margaret Esworthy was born Jany 5, 1822 at 2 o'clock James Skiles died Mch 16, 1887 Margaret Skiles died June 18, 1900 William C. Huston was married July 4, 1900 to Alda McMillan of Sturgison, Preston Co WVA, daughter of Jonah McMillan & is two years older than her husband. They live at Sabraton WVA one mile from Morgantown WVA & have four children, Mrs Skiles says, as follows: 1. William Walter Huston born Dec 22, 1900 2. Harry Ray Huston 3. Rosa Blanche Huston 4. Clara Margaret Huston, named for her two grandmothers ---------- James Lydle? Skiles, Cumberland Tp on Hill above McCann's ferry on left hand side of road at 7:44 AM & found his wife Emma Jane Skiles & her sister, Caroline Huston there. Mrs Skiles got out their old big Bible & from it, I took the following records: Marriages James Lydle Skiles & Emma Jane Huston were married May 27, 1880 by Archibald Kerr J.P. at F.P. Huston's. Huston, living with his son Frank G. on Baily Ave Waynesburg Pa May 24, 1922 11:35 AM Chas E. Hart drove me in town in his auto & I found Frank & his wife in & housecleaning on. His father came in a few minutes later & from his Bible record, Frank read me the record & I wrote it down viz: Wilson Columbus Huston born Apr 10, 1846 Martha Levina Gwynne born Dec 12, 1847 (daughter of Josiah Gwynne & his wife Lydia Phillips). She died Jany 23, 1913 V6 Page 507 Wilson C. Huston & Martha L. Gwynne were married Nov 8, 1883 in Uniontown Pa by Rev W.S. Danley Their children were: 1. Anna Gwynne Wilson was never married, born Sept 21, 1885 died Feby 7, 1919. 2. Frank Gwynne Huston born Feby 28, 1888, married Sept 11, 1920 by Rev John Calvin French to Florence Kathryn Baily (daughter of Eli G. Bailey & his wife Sarah Agnes Blair). She was born Jany 11, 1896 she says & live on Baily Ave, Carmichaels Pa. Wilson C. Huston says he never knew or heard of any Reed or Jenkins relatives. He remembers "Andy" Dunlap, a relative, who lived up about Greensboro, but never knew of any brothers or sisters of his. Says an old lady, widow of Samuel Dunlap, son of Andrew, whose name is Martha, lives here in Carmichaels on Vine St next to Frank Mitchener, being second house below residence of W.G. Laidley. ---------- Miss Elizabeth Stone Carmichaels Pa May 24, 1922 1:27 PM Miss Stone says she used to hear of John Wilson over by McCellandtown Pa being related. She is lame & walks with a cane but has gone upstairs to bring down her V6 Page 511 Father's Bible. says she has been lame about 8 yrs. The Bible is a large old dilapidated one with leather board covers that are loose & was published at Hartford by Reed & Barber but no date is given. Size about 10 by 13 inches. The record from the Bible is as follows: Marriages Elias Stone & Mary (Huston) Mch 21st 1833 Elias Stone & Mary A. Stone June 9th, 1853 (Mary A. was a daughter of James Craig a miller who lived at Minor's Mill in Monon Tp & his wife Margaret McKee who he married at Pgh. She, Mary A. Craig was married first to Otho Minor & Elias Stone was her 2d husband & she his second wife.) Elias Stone was the son of James Stone & his wife Nancy Sedgwick. James in turn was the son of Elias Stone & his wife Elizabeth Baldwin. He took up most of the land about Greensboro & also Turkey Knob & thereabouts. Getting back to Bible record: Elias Stone was born Sept 22, 1808 Mary Stone (Huston) was born Sept 16, 1807 Their children: 1. * Elizabeth Stone, my informant, Dec 13, 1833 2. James Stone, was born Jany 4, 1836 3. Nancy Stone was born May 27, 1837 4. Frances Stone was born Jany 22, 1840 5. Thomas Stone was born Mch 15, 1843 The above is written in a fine plain hand & Miss Stone says was written by V6 Page 512 Andrew Dunlap her Uncle who married her father's sister. The balance or births of 2d wife's children is written in a more nervous hand & she says by her father, who had an injured hand which interfered with his writing. 6. Stone died Sept 19, 1864 (Miss Stone says Milt & John died of diptheria & the other three with dysentery) Elias Stone died Nov 22, 1872 Frank M.
