"Remember me when I am gone. Mother" A newspaper obituary was affixed on an inside page of the Bible: Morris Items Died, April 7th at Swarts Station, of lung disease, John Swart, aged About 30 years. He leaves a wife and three small children to mourn his loss. He was a son of Jabob Swart. Inside the Bible there are 12 photos, one being a tin type. Swart...July 31 1883 Johnnie Swart...May 1st 1886 DEATHS John W. _ Swart...Died, April 7, 1886 John Swart...Oct 3, 1903 OBIT DEATH ROLL Mr. George Gilmore, of West Waynesburg, Pa., died Sunday morning, Nov. 12th. He had gone to work on Monday preceding but came home at noon quite ill as the result of a growth in the stomach. His suffering was intense and the period of his illness brief. Deceased was born at Clarington, Monroe county, Ohio, September 17th 1862. About 20 years ago he move from there to Elizabeth, W. VA., weher he remained until he moved to Swarts, Pa. More than three decades ago he moved to where he died. He possessed a rugged constitution and was always a hard worker until within less than a week of his death. He was a good man, a loving husband and a kind father. He provided well for the spiritual as well as the temporal needs of his family. Those who knew him were his friends and in parting with him suffer the loss a true brother. He leaves a wife and three sons—Everett, Cammie and Harry. The oldest, Everett, who enlisted in the Navy almost three years ago, is married and has a son. The other two Cammie and Harry, ages 15 and 9, respectively, are with the mother. Deceased was a member of the Swartz, M. E. Church where the funeral services were conducted by the pastor on Monday, Nov. 13th, after which the body was laid away in Green Grove Cemetery. A Friend.
